Northcott is home to 1000 tenants. The Community Centre is run by volunteers from the Surry Hills Public Housing Tenants Association - the only tenant group of its kind in NSW.
The Northcott Harmony Club started on Fridays to engage tenants in telling their stories and developing performance skills. This partnership project was launched in April 2008 as a community BBQ was hatched at the Friday afternoon Harmony Club.
The Swish Dudes: These guys were first up. They are a four part A Cappella group made up of Northcott residents and friends. There performances are ubiquitous at Northcott events and they performed a lively set of jazz standards.

Shino - a TAFE welfare student played the flute beautifully and did a great job to present a truly interactive and informative performance
Then people from the audience jumped up to perform spontaneously..
TAFE Music Student Dylan was the sound guy come singer /songwriter extraordinaire. He wooed the crowd with his powerful vocals and self penned numbers.
Sandra Logar a talented singer from Sydney Street Choir proved she is multitalented by singing one of her own compositions, a Capella on the day.
Audrey or Dame Aud as she was introduced the Queen of Northcott serenaded us with a traditional song.
Then John jumped up and serenaded us with a haunting Maori lullaby. I was just magic and the crowd joined in with the chorus and hand actions.
Communities in Harmony thank Department of Immigration and Citizenship, Living in Harmony community projects and all out project partners. We all had a fantastic day and I hope this small clip manages to portray the happy, community driven atmosphere that permeated the day.
